The Prime Gilt Box of Kirkcaldy - Archive Centre Drop in Day
The Society's account book for 1612 - 1674 was kept with the burgh records of Kirkcaldy. It includes payments for voyages by Kirkcaldy ships to Holland, London, Norway, Ireland and France.
The Prime Gilt Box bought the East Mill and lands at Balsusnie. The names of Prime Gilt Box Street, Nelson Street and Nile Street are present day reminders of the Society.
