Boost your driver knowledge now

Archived news: published on Tuesday 13 Oct 2009 by Fife Council

Fife Safety Camera Partnership provide copies of the newly revised Official Highway Code interactive cd-rom to all community and school libraries as part of the 2009 winter driving campaign.

Andy Jones, Partnership Manager explained:

“While journey planning and vehicle maintenance are priorities in advance of the winter additional emphasis this year is on increasing driver knowledge.   It's fair to say that we can all benefit from a refresh now and again and established drivers may be surprised at the result of testing themselves especially if they haven't looked at the highway code since passing the driving test.   Providing the cd-rom for local high schools and community libraries ensures access to all and supports our commitment to the 'Safer Neighbourhoods' pillar of the local policing plan."

Yvonne Melville, Adult Services Co-ordinator, Library & Museum Services added:

"For the next few weeks we are working closely with Fife Safety Camera Partnership to support the winter driving campaign by adding a link from our community use pc's to the Partnership website.  The site provides information about road works, where safety cameras are, and tips for vehicle maintenance.  We are also encouraging the local community to test their knowledge by using the cd-rom of the highway code on the library pc's or at home."

Fife Safety Camera Partnership is a road casualty reduction unit commited to making Fife safer.  Slow down.....make Fife safer - safer travel.....protecting communities.
