Fife music activities Showcase event
Archived news: published on Tuesday 07 Aug 2012 by Fife Council
On Sunday 26th August, over 170 young musicians from all over Fife will come together to perform in the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes. The afternoon concert, starting at 2 pm, will feature Fife Youth Orchestra, Fife Youth Concert Band, Fife Schools Strings Orchestra and Fife Youth Percussion Ensemble.
A highly guarded secret, the final programme is guaranteed to appeal to everyone and will include the players’ own favourite pieces from performances last session. The grand finale will feature all the young musicians performing together –definitely not to be missed!
The concert is being supported by Fife Youth Music Activities, an independent Scottish Charity which aims to offer support and encouragement to Fife Music Activities, the programme of group and ensemble music making activities organised by the Instrumental Music Service in Fife.
All the young musicians are very much looking forward to rehearsing together after the summer break and demand for tickets is expected to be high. Tickets, priced at £5 (adults) and £2 (children), are available from the Rothes Halls, Box Office, Rothes Square, Glenrothes, KY7 5NX.
