They were set up by the county council to create films for use in fife schools. The idea started at Queen Anne High School.
 
Science experiments were recorded onto video tape to demonstrate the experiments to the pupils. A science teacher, Magnus Moore, starred in one of the first films. He later became director of education for fife regional council.

1971 the opening of the Dunfermline Schools Television Centre in Maitland Street, Dunfermline

Approx 1982/83- Closure of FEtv.

We have photographs of FEtv staff and films and there will be information in the education committee minutes and the Queen High School log book.
 
 Some of the films made by FEtv are available at the local studies section
of the Carnegie Library, Abbot Street, Dunfermline.
